Cars, coffee and crowds
Story and pics by Vyvyan Black.
There’s really not much to a Cars & Coffee event. You spend the morning gawking at cars nestled along a street and, if you wish, you can enjoy a coffee bought from any of numerous mobile vendors scattered along the route.
Yet Cars & Coffee is now a global phenomenon, see https://cars.coffee where the passion for supercar and classic car owners and enthusiasts is on show to anyone who cares to attend.
Cars & Coffee Brisbane has been going for a while now. See www.carsandcoffeebrisbane.com It takes place on the first Saturday of each month at Turbo Drive Coorparoo and has now been expanded to 34 Goggs Road Jindalee every third Saturday.
What makes it so popular? I’m not sure, but there is something nice about catching up with so many car nuts at once, seeing the amazing variety of cars and the buzz that comes when a huge number of interested observers gather in one place.
Oh, and if you want something special for breakfast it’s not too much of a walk to Café Genovese opposite Coorparoo station. I highly recommend it.
